Jeremy Morrison, Director of 20th Century Design at Sotheby's, will examine the currency of Design Art in the London market. The lecture will trace the evolution of the market for Design from post war design sales in the 80s and 90s to the influence of New York and Paris to the burgeoning of auction sales in London from 2000 onwards. Finally, there will be an assessment of recent trends within the design market. The talk will be illustrated with major examples of Design Art sold at international auctions.

Jeremy Morrison M.R.I.C.S.Director and Head of 20th Century Design, London Jeremy Morrison joined Sotheby's in September 1997. After a time in the Furniture and Works of Art departments of their Sussex saleroom, including overseeing their Decorative Arts auctions, he trained as an auctioneer and qualified as a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1999. In August 2001 he became Head of 20th Century Decorative Arts & Design at Sotheby's Olympia and was appointed Director and London Head of 20th Century Design in 2003. Since then he has been responsible for several auctions of property from the collections of prominent pioneer dealers in Decorative Arts.
