How Russia Sees the World and How the World Sees Russian will aim to describe how the current government sees its role as a regional and global power and how its relations with the West are still troubled by the Cold war legacy, while efforts to build new relations with China and Asia have been difficult as Russia is not prepared to assume a secondary seat in this dynamically developing region.

About Oksana Antonenko
Oksana Antonenko is a renowned military and security commentator on Russia. She is Senior Fellow for Russia and Eurasia at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London, where she has served since 1996.
An expert in political and security issues in Russia, the Caucasus and Caspian Sea Region, and Central Asia, Ms Antonenko’s current project focus on security and counter-terrorist policies in Russia and Eurasia, frozen conflicts in the South Caucasus, the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation, and security in Central Asia.
In 2005, Ms Antonenko facilitated two meetings between Georgian and South Ossetian senior officials and experts with the aim of promoting conflict resolution in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict.
